Leaning into the subtle movements of my horse grazing-it is very interesting how she has a pattern of movement of both her mouth and her feet. My hand on her wither and my side touching her side . The curve of her barrel and the feel of her breathing through her body-we become synced in the rhythm
Pulled out my old flip chart pad, got new fruit scented markers and set up a reclaimed trashed artist easel and going to sketch and play. Feeling unleashed.
These words have inspired me…… to play with feet and toes with stones in bowl of hot water and magnesium salts….play and explore where it’s easy…lean into listening to new and old songs and go with voice and movements arising…creating 3 days space from today to explore… 🙏🏻😊
Makes me think about a podcast I follow here on Substack; Stories lived, stories told. It is about people's lives and stories, and the host Abbie often talks about "lean into the relationship", amongst other things meaning "move in closer to discover new things and learn from other people, especially those you think may be different to you". So "lean into experimentation" makes me think about taking risks, staying open even when it may feel uncomfortable, be curious, be present through my heart and be willing to be changed by what I experience. As a start of a reflection.
"Lean into experimentation" is a lovely and inspiring sentence to me and thanks for challenging us to share reflectios about it!!
Leaning into experiments means the willingness to make mistakes, embrace both disappointment and failure, as well as creating the space for unexpected beauty and joyful surprises. A sense of playful ease, flow and letting go.
I can relate to this idea of leaning into experimentation and I love that you mentioned the physical sense of moving forwards and support. It makes me think of leaning in for a hug with support to your forward momentum, as well as the surrounding warmth of someone's hugging arms. It is definitely a beautiful idea to think of leaning into experimentation, especially if the experiment feels risky. This is something I am going to explore over the next few weeks. I am trying a few new activities in my life, and although they may not appear risky, sometimes just meeting new people gives me a level of anxiety. I will endeavour to lean into this and may need to fake confidence- fake it til you make it :). I enjoy reading all of the comments. Food for thought and inspirational. Thanks all.
Your comment was food for thought for me as well because we share that risky feeling when meeting people. Glad you shared that and I never thought of that application of what we are learning to influence even our fears. Good one!
Like a child playing. Being in themselves and in the outside at the same time, trying out things and noticing what happens. I am also trying to synthesise some of my skills and competencies from life, but I have been struggling to find words to express what it is that I actually do and I have been scared to share my story. I will play today with my upcoming website and just allow myself to be in many possibilities. Lean into trying out both words and images. Notice what happens. Lean the support when my immediate surroundings respond to any action.
I leaned into experimentation today on the go. When I walk up hills and use certain stomach muscles I tend to hold my breath.
I experimented with breathing into an area that was not contracting due to use and looked for other areas of the body that could open up. I immediately thought of arches/buttocks/stomach/chest and found space to breathe deeply in the rib cage snd back. With a little tweaking, I did not get breathless going uphill.
I rotated my forearms while walking and that brought attention to the rib cage which could widen even more and breathe into it. Wow- JKA in action. Hallelujah.

Lean into experimentation. Isn’t what LIFE should be? This is great truly embracing the comment language too. Play, synthesizing skills, old songs.

I really resonate with your words….synthesising skills and competencies… Finding words to express ….being scared to share my story…🙏🏻🙏🏻
Tiffany! You are such a creative inspiration and if more women ran businesses like you, it'd be an entirely different landscape. ❤️
I just listened to your recent podcast episode and YOU are such a creative inspiration!!! I feel so grateful to be in your orbit 💕✨
Awwww such a compliment coming from you! 🙏🏼
